Welcome to WEMM!

The Woodland Ecumenical and Multi-faith Ministries (WEMM) council is an interfaith council consisting of faith communities in Woodland who meet together each month to:
  • Do Good by bringing our members and the community together to serve, and by supporting local charities helping those in need, and
  • Promote interfaith worship, friendship, understanding, and respect.
Each participating faith community may have up to 3 voting members of WEMM. We meet once a month, rotating locations between the various member faith communities.
All of Woodland’s faith communities are invited to be members of WEMM, including those outside of Woodland but serving Woodland residents. For more information, or to join one of our meetings to check it out, contact WEMM’s secretary, Viola Fong, 530-379-3553.

Celebration of Abraham

Lenten Lunches

In March and April, WEMM member faiths host a free lunch and Lent message each Wednesday at noon during Lent. Here's the 2024 schedule. All are welcome!

  • Feb 14: Woodland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 509 College St.

  • Feb 21: Woodland United Methodist Church, 212 – 2nd St.

  • Feb 28: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 850 Pioneer Ave.

  • Mar 6: Woodland Presbyterian Church, 1324 Columbia Drive

  • Mar 13: American Lutheran Church & Holy Rosary Catholic Church, hosting at 1114 College St.

  • Mar 20: St. John’s United Church of Christ, 432 Cleveland St.

Peace Picnic

When the Muslim community in Woodland and throughout the United States felt unsafe in the aftermath of 9/11, rather than stay stuck in that feeling of victimhood, they realized that they would only be able to feel safe and survive if they reached out to others in order to build a sense of togetherness. From that effort, the annual Interfaith Community Peace Picnic was born.

Thanksgiving Service

Each year at Thanksgiving, WEMM hosts an inter/multi-faith Thanksgiving Service. The entire community is invited. Donations of food or other gifts are given to Fourth & Hope.
